Carrier India has announced plans to invest approximately ₹1,000 crore to establish a new manufacturing facility in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh.
The investment deal was formalised with a lease agreement for site development at Sri City, marking a major expansion in the company’s Indian manufacturing footprint.
The facility will be built on around 39 acres within the Sri City industrial zone.
The project is expected to generate about 3,000 jobs, including 1,000 direct and 2,000 indirect employment opportunities.
The plant’s production focus will be state-of-the-art air-conditioning and HVAC systems that prioritise sustainable and energy-efficient cooling solutions.
Andhra Pradesh’s government highlighted that Carrier’s decision reflects the state’s “Speed of Doing Business” approach, with approvals and land handover completed rapidly from initial engagement to finalisation.
The new facility aligns with the state’s strategy to attract high-value, technology-driven industries and to build globally competitive manufacturing clusters.
Sri City’s established infrastructure, strategic location and ongoing industrial growth reinforce its position as one of India’s key hubs for air-conditioning and HVAC manufacturing.
Company and government statements underscore that the facility will help Carrier meet rising domestic and international demand for advanced cooling products.
The project complements Carrier’s existing operations in India and strengthens the region’s industrial ecosystem with advanced manufacturing capacity.
