Drone technology company Garuda Aerospace has entered into a strategic partnership with Micron Instruments to accelerate the development of next-generation indigenous defence drones and unmanned systems. The collaboration aims to strengthen India's defence manufacturing capabilities by combining expertise in drone technology with precision defence engineering.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two companies will collaborate on product distribution, joint technology development and defence-focused projects. The partnership will focus on building advanced unmanned platforms, including loitering munitions, payload-enabled unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and other next-generation autonomous defence systems.
The collaboration brings together Garuda Aerospace's expertise in drone manufacturing and autonomous aerial platforms with Micron Instruments' capabilities in designing and manufacturing precision fuzes and defence ammunition systems. By integrating their technologies, both companies aim to develop indigenous solutions that enhance India's self-reliance in defence manufacturing under the Make in India initiative.
Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, said the partnership creates new opportunities in defence drones, loitering munitions and next-generation unmanned systems while supporting India's vision of technological self-reliance. He added that Micron Instruments' strong capabilities in precision engineering complement Garuda Aerospace's innovation in unmanned aerial technologies.
The partnership comes at a time when India is witnessing growing investments in indigenous defence technologies, particularly in drones, autonomous systems and advanced surveillance capabilities. Rising defence modernization efforts and increasing demand for domestically developed unmanned platforms are expected to create significant opportunities for Indian defence technology companies.
With the collaboration, Garuda Aerospace and Micron Instruments aim to strengthen India's position in the rapidly evolving defence drone ecosystem by developing advanced indigenous solutions capable of supporting future military requirements and expanding the country's defence manufacturing capabilities.
