Mandate Awarded by NHAI
Lord’s Mark Industries Limited has been awarded a contract by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to install solar-based highway lighting systems on designated accident-prone stretches of national highways.
Project Objective
The initiative aims to reduce road accidents and improve visibility on high-risk sections by deploying a world-first, data-driven solar lighting design that integrates advanced analytics and predictive risk mapping.
Technology Approach
Unlike traditional lighting projects, this solution employs proprietary frameworks combining accident analytics, on-ground visibility diagnostics, and intelligent solar design to identify exactly where enhanced illumination will most improve safety.
Scope of Work
The contract covers multiple strategic highway segments, including designated stretches on NH-16 and NH-216 such as the Anakapalli–Annavaram–Diwancheruvu and Diwancheruvu–Siddhantham–Gundugolanu corridors, among others.
Solar Power Orientation
The lighting systems will be powered by solar energy, reinforcing sustainability goals while ensuring consistent illumination in areas that currently lack adequate night-time visibility.
Safety Impact Focus
By directing lighting infrastructure specifically to identified black spot regions, the project is intended to dramatically improve driver visibility and contribute to a reduction in nighttime road fatalities and injuries.
