Quick commerce major Zepto has strengthened its leadership team with the appointment of Navdeep Sachdeva as Senior Vice President and Head of Procurement, as the company continues to scale its operations across India.
In his new role, Sachdeva will oversee Zepto’s end-to-end procurement strategy, including sourcing across supply chain operations, logistics, technology, marketing, and indirect spends. The appointment comes at a time when cost efficiency and supply reliability are critical for quick commerce players navigating intense competition and rapid expansion.
Navdeep Sachdeva brings nearly two decades of experience across procurement, strategic sourcing, and supply chain management. Prior to joining Zepto, he held senior leadership roles at PhonePe, where he was instrumental in building scalable procurement frameworks for a fast-growing digital platform.
His career also includes leadership stints at Flipkart and Bharti Airtel, where he managed large vendor ecosystems, optimized costs, and led transformation initiatives across complex, high-growth organizations.
As Zepto deepens its footprint in India’s quick commerce space, procurement efficiency plays a key role in margin management, vendor partnerships, and operational resilience. Sachdeva’s appointment signals the company’s focus on professionalizing backend operations while supporting aggressive growth plans.
Industry observers view this move as part of Zepto’s broader effort to build a seasoned leadership bench, aligning operational discipline with scale and speed.
With quick commerce players under increasing scrutiny on unit economics, senior leadership hires in procurement and supply chain are seen as value-accretive moves. Strengthening procurement capabilities can directly impact margins, supplier negotiations, and long-term sustainability.
