PhonePe Strengthens Market Presence with November Growth Surge

Overall UPI Activity: The Unified Payments Interface (UPI) processed 20.47 billion transactions valued at Rs. 26.32 lakh crore in November 2025, according to NPCI data.

PhonePe’s Position: PhonePe remained the largest UPI app in November, handling 9.33 billion transactions, equivalent to 45.6% of total UPI transaction volume and 48.5% of transaction value.

PhonePe Market Share Trend: Despite a slight drop in transaction volume compared with October, PhonePe gained market share during the month.

Google Pay’s Performance: Google Pay ranked second with 7.03 billion transactions, holding a 34.4% share by both volume and value; it experienced a minor month‑on‑month dip in both metrics.

Third Position – Paytm: Paytm was third, processing 1.55 billion transactions, which represented 7.6% of total UPI volume and 6.2% by value.

Smaller Players – Navi: Navi processed 609 million transactions, giving it a 3% share by volume in November.

Other UPI Apps: Additional platforms recorded lower volumes:

super.money: 265 million transactions.
Cred: 154 million transactions (higher value per transaction).
BHIM: 141 million transactions.
Axis Bank apps: 236 million transactions.
Amazon Pay: 89 million transactions.
FamApp by Trio: 150 million transactions.

UPI Usage Patterns: After October’s festive spike, UPI usage remained robust, especially in everyday spending categories such as groceries and food services.
