Overview of National Stock Exchange Unlisted Shares
Incorporated in 1992, NSE received recognition as a stock exchange by SEBI in April 1993. It holds the distinction of being the first exchange in India to offer a modern, fully automated screen-based electronic trading system that provides accessible trading facilities to investors across the country. NSE is a market leader across all asset classes in the Indian market.
The exchange has the highest turnover every year since 1995. NSE enjoys a monopoly in the derivative segment. As per the Futures Industry Association data, NSE has become the World's Largest Derivatives Exchange by trading volumes, outpacing the CME Group in the US and the B3 Exchange in Brazil.
For the fiscal year 2022, NSE dominated the market share (by total turnover) in various segments. It held a share of 93% in the Equity Cash market, 100% in Equity Futures, 100% in Equity Options, 70% in Currency Futures, and 95% in Currency Options based on premium value.
Total Assets under Management of domestic ETFs (equity and debt) and index funds linked to Nifty indices grew by 58% to H3.5 Trn in FY 2021- 22.
For more than two decades, NSE has spearheaded the digital transformation of India's capital market. Key Shareholders: Life Insurance Corporation of India, SBI Capital Markets Limited, State Bank of India, Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd, Aranda Investments Mauritius Pte Ltd, Veracity Investments Limited.
NSE`s Joint venture with SGX i.e., NSE IFSC – SGX Connect will enable global investors to trade in dollar-denominated Nifty Futures contracts available on the Singapore Exchange in GIFT City.
Real-time access to NSE IFSC market data will be made available to investors. Additionally, NSE has launched NSE Prime, which contributes to the strengthening of the governance movement in India.

There is no restriction on transfer of unlisted shares until the IPO cut-off date which is generally a week before listing. However, after listing SEBI norms are applicable to these shares.
