Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) has started the process to prepare a long-term master plan that will guide its development over the next 25 years.
Tenders have been invited from expert agencies to create this comprehensive blueprint for future growth.
The plan will cover expansion of runways, taxiways, terminal buildings, aircraft parking and air traffic projections to support increasing passenger and cargo demand.
It will also address the development of cargo facilities, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) infrastructure, and other aeronautical services.
Non-aeronautical development such as commercial space, retail zones, hospitality and other revenue-generating assets within the airport campus will be factored into the plan.
The master plan will include support infrastructure like roads, parking and multimodal connectivity to improve accessibility and operations.
This will be the third strategic master plan for CIAL, providing a long-term roadmap for investments and infrastructure development.
