Cochin International Airport recorded a 2.2% growth in passenger traffic during FY26, continuing its strong recovery momentum despite challenges faced by the aviation sector and geopolitical uncertainties in West Asia. The airport handled over 1.14 crore passengers during the financial year, marking the fourth consecutive year in which passenger traffic crossed the 10 million milestone.
The airport also registered 73,134 aircraft movements during the year, with domestic operations contributing 41,629 movements and international operations accounting for 31,505. Domestic passenger traffic stood at 60.40 lakh, while international passenger traffic reached 54.01 lakh, reflecting balanced growth across both segments.
May 2025 emerged as the busiest month for the airport, with passenger traffic surpassing 11 lakh travelers. Airport authorities attributed the consistent rise in traffic to improved infrastructure, operational efficiency, and ongoing modernization initiatives under the “CIAL 2.0” program.
Cochin International Airport stated that the steady increase in passenger and airline activity highlights growing preference for the Kochi airport as a key aviation hub in South India
