Drone technology startup Garuda Aerospace has taken a major structural step by converting into a public company, signalling its intent to prepare for a future initial public offering (IPO). The company officially removed “Private” from its name, now operating as Garuda Aerospace Limited, as part of this transition.
To meet regulatory requirements and enhance governance, Garuda Aerospace appointed several independent directors and expanded its board. These measures align the company with public market expectations and increase transparency ahead of its IPO ambitions.
Founded in 2015, Garuda Aerospace has become one of India’s leading drone-as-a-service companies, designing, manufacturing, and customising unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for applications such as agriculture, logistics, disaster response, and deliveries. With one of India’s largest commercial drone fleets and a wide range of models and services, the company is a key player in the rapidly growing drone ecosystem.
The shift to a public company structure enhances Garuda Aerospace’s readiness for broader capital market engagement. It also supports long-term growth objectives such as expanding manufacturing capacity, extending global exports, and increasing research and development efforts.
This move highlights the growing maturity of India’s drone technology sector and underscores Garuda Aerospace’s ambition to accelerate innovation and market penetration while preparing for a potential IPO.
