Studds Accessories, a leading manufacturer of helmets and two-wheeler accessories, has filed draft papers with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) to initiate an initial public offering (IPO). This marks the company's second attempt to go public, following an earlier filing in 2018.
In its latest Draft Red Herring Prospectus (DRHP) submitted on March 27, 2025, Studds proposes an Offer for Sale (OFS) of 7.79 million shares by its promoter group and existing shareholders. This approach differs from the 2018 plan, which included a fresh issuance of shares worth ₹98 crore alongside an OFS of 3.94 million shares.
For the six months ending September 2024, Studds reported revenues of ₹285 crore and a net profit of ₹33 crore, indicating robust financial health. As one of the world's largest helmet manufacturers, Studds holds a significant share in both domestic and international markets, offering a diverse range of helmets and motorcycle accessories.
The IPO aims to provide an exit route for existing investors and enhance the company's visibility in the market. While the current filing focuses on an OFS, the capital raised is expected to support Studds' ongoing growth initiatives and strengthen its market presence.
Studds Accessories' renewed IPO filing reflects its commitment to expanding its footprint in the two-wheeler accessories sector. As the company awaits SEBI's approval, industry observers are keen to see how this move will influence Studds' trajectory in the competitive marketplace.
